Pregnancy Resources

These are all recommendations I’ve heard from (many times!) over the years.

HSE Physio Services – the HSE offers a free service pre- and postnatally. You must get a referral from your GP.

Osteopathy  – Alex Daly in Wilton

Craniosacral Therapist – Sarah Devoy in Wilton (pre and post natal, also works with babies)

Home Birth Midwife, Breastfeeding support, antenatal classes, baby massage, Craniosacral Therapist – Elke Hasner

Women’s Health Physiotherapist for pregnancy and also does a ‘Mommy MOT’ postpartum – SinĂ©ad Tracey  (Ballineen)

Lactation Consultant – Maria O’Sullivan

Lactation Consultant – Orla Dorgan

(Both of these consultants provide an introduction to breastfeeding before baby arrives which I’d really recommend)

Antenatal Classes, Mallow

Winner Flow Breathing Device for Birth

Breathing is the basis during childbirth.

In the dilation phase:  relaxing support, possibly pain-relieving and non-medicinal, helps with a rapid dilation due to greater stress on the uterine neck and enhances foetal engagement and improves presentation.

During the delivery phase: improves oxygenation of the mother and foetus, reduces tearing and need for episiotomy, reduces the use of forceps or vacuum extraction and makes delivery easier.
