What are the benefits about mum + Baby Yoga at The Yoga Nook?

At The Yoga Nook, we believe in providing more than just a yoga class—we offer a holistic approach to parent and baby wellness that encompasses postpartum rehab for birth mothers, relaxation, community, songs and dances for babies as well as an all important focus on having a supportive tribe to navigate parenthood.

Our Mum and Baby Yoga classes provide a nurturing and inclusive space for parents to bond with their babies, prioritize self-care, and connect with a supportive community of like-minded individuals. Led by an experienced teacher with a passion for postnatal wellness, our classes focus on gentle yoga practices, baby bonding exercises, and mindfulness techniques tailored to the unique needs of new mothers and their babies.

Physical recovery

Mum and Baby Yoga classes offer gentle yet effective exercises to support postpartum physical recovery. These practices help mothers regain strength in the core and pelvic floor muscles, promoting healing and alleviating discomfort commonly experienced after childbirth. By incorporating gentle stretches and movements, mothers can improve flexibility and posture, aiding in the restoration of their pre-pregnancy fitness levels and enhancing overall well-being.

TOOLS TO BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE AS A PARENT

So much of the preparation into parenthood focuses on labour and birth. Then starts the journey of parenthood — and th focus is often almost solely on the baby. In these classes, you will learn to trust your inner wisdom, and how to find relief from the inner critic that may be convincing you that you’re not a good enough parent for your little one.

Little by little, you will cultivate compassion, patience and kindness towards yourself. And this authentic modelling will is a powerful method of showing children to prioritise their own self-care in years to come!

Poetry and Music to Unwind

Poetry and music can help to process the journey of pregnancy and motherhood. To allow yourself time and space to feel into these transition in your life.

A Safe and Supportive Community

In our studio, you’ll find a circle of like-minded individuals who understand the joys and challenges of early parenthood. These classes foster meaningful connections, allowing mothers to share stories, laughter, and experiences in a supportive environment.

Empowerment

Pregnancy is a profound and sacred journey, filled with moments of joy, wonder, and transformation. Our classes provide a weekly setting where you can honour the miracle of pregnancy, connect with your baby, and nurture yourself in body, mind, and spirit. With our guidance and support, you’ll cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness, resilience, and empowerment that will serve you not only during pregnancy but into motherhood.

“The Yoga Nook holds such wonderful memories for me as I attended mum & baby classes with my newborn. He was a very unsettled baby and the classes were a chance for me to get to chat to other mums while getting in some movement. I still now attend the Flow classes and Rosie caters to everyone, if she feels like someone in the class is struggling she will slow it down a little and she’s always checking in with her class members at the start and end of class.

It is really a wonderful space with a lovely teacher.”
